A writer is an individual who produces written work, either for aliving or as a hobby. Consequently, students can see beyond their own assumptions and opinions. These habits are also important when facing everyday life, not just literature.

Literature teaches us about laughter and love, about remembering and forgetting. I know that that sounds pretty corny, like something on a PBS commercial, but I feel that there are a vast amount of experiences and people the reader gets to encounter in any work of literature.
